Maid of Honor
|
Katie
Barth: Sister of the Bride. Katie is my one and
only younger sister and will be my Maid of Honor. She was
a soccer
star at Miami University of Ohio, where she received her
BA in Political Science, and guided her team to the NCAA Tournament.
Katie lives in Indianapolis and works in public relations
for the YMCA
Urban Mission. She has a great appreciation for clean
counter tops and excellent taste in shoes and clothing. She
is near to my heart, I just wish she was closer to my home!
My sister is a caring and generous soul, and her sensitivity
is one of her greatest assets. |
 |
Tammy
Stefl: Friend of the
Bride. Tammy was my coworker for 4 1/2 years at OCBA. She
remains a close friend and scrapbooking partner. She lives
in Plainwell, Michigan with her husband Troy, their adorable
two year old son Ryan, and their beautiful new daughter Megan
(see News). Tammy currently
works with her husband, using her design skills for his company,
Landscape
DesignWorks. She is my sounding board, big sister,
and a loyal friend. We share a love of gardening, perfectionistic
scrapbooking and spicy foods. She has a great sense of humor
and her friendship means the world to me. |
 |
Julienne
Barth: Sister of the Groom. Julienne,
a creative soul, is Chriss younger sister. Julienne
lives in Bristol, Indiana and works for Pearl
Design. Among an exhaustive list of activities, Julienne
enjoys painting, sculpting, designing jewelry, instructing
ballroom dance and taking care of her one-eyed Rottweiler,
Big. Julienne and Chris are very close and I look forward
to spending more time with a new sister. A special note of
appreciation: The Bride and Groom would like to thank Julienne
for reducing the cost on flowers due to the glamour and natural
beauty she brings to the wedding. |
 |
Kate
Weigand: College friend of the Bride and Groom. Kate,
one of three accomplished artists amongst the bridesmaids,
is a friend to both Chris and I. Kate lives in St. Louis and
works for the St. Louis Museum of Art. Although we've never
lived in the same city, our ever-growing friendship began
over four years ago at our first das
Energie college reunion. Since then, she has been the
ever so gracious host to the past two das Energie reunions
(last yearss re-creation of the Iron Chef Cookoff and
this year's ocean
side vacation). She is also quite possibly the cleanest
person you will every meet. We share a great love for fine
clothes and even finer chocolate. Thank you for honoring me
by being such a special part of our wedding. |
 |
Jackie
Rush: College friend of the Bride and Groom.
Jackie, the third of our artist/bridesmaids, is a good friend
of Chris and I. We developed a friendship after college and
have continued to grow closer as we get together to travel,
cook, and play low
impact sports. Jackie lives in Chicago, Illinois, with
her dog Rigley and cat Shockra, and works in sales. Like me,
Jackie loves music, gourmet food, and a good laugh. Her creativity
and willingness will be a big help as the day approaches.
Jackie is always sparkling, vivacious and stylish. Chris and
I are both very happy to share our celebration with her and
appreciate her time and support. |

Flowergirl |
Hannah
Barth: Niece of the Groom. Hannah is Chriss niece,
the beautiful daughter of Rudiger
and Nadia Barth. Hannah is absolutely precious and will be
our flower girl. She loves to create and is eight years old
on the 23rd of August. Hannah attends the second grade, is
an "A" student, and often converses on a higher
level than some grownups. We know that Hannah will be a very
special addition to our wedding day and we appreciate her
long trip to be with us. Hannah and her family reside on beautiful
Naples Island, in Long Beach, California. |

ATTENDANTS: |

Best
Man
|
Cpt.
Ross Toth: Ross and I have been friends since 2nd
grade when we interviewed each other in the first week of
school; Ross Toast and Cris Bark liked each other from the
start. Growing up, I spent many days at the Toth abode being
babysat by Ross's mom (thanks Mrs. T.) and playing Lego, Atari,
and Axis and Allies. In all our spare time, Ross and I invented
many games together and developed a brother-like bond. Family
boundaries have blurred between his and mine and I am fortunate
to have him as a friend. Ross is stationed at Fort Bragg in
Fayetteville, North Carolina with his wife, Cpt. Mary Helene
Toth, who outranks him, and they are the proud parents of
a new baby girl, Marianne. |
 |
Dr.
D. Matthew Schwartz: Childhood friend of the Groom. "Ole
Doc" Schwartz, as he prefers to be called, has been my
friend since a 6th grade social studies class where I sat
next to him and got him in trouble for laughing too much.
Matt and I connected through art and video, working together
on a number of projects,
throughout middle and high school, which we are still proud
of. We share the same sense of humor and an appreciation for
film and screenwriting. Matt recently completed his second
screenplay and will soon be beginning his residency for psychiatry.
Matt lives in Grand Rapids with his doctor wife Natalie, their
son Jacob and daughter Amanda. |
 |
Brian
Schultz: College friend of the Bride and Groom. Brian
lives in New York, Paris, Tokyo, Delaware, New Jersey, and,
when hes not working, Chicago. Brian leads his jetsetting
lifestyle as a manager for Accenture. Brian and I met in our
freshman year at Dayton.
Our mutual luckless love lives led us to a fast and somewhat
meandering friendship. Fran, Brian, and I were inseparable
for a time during our sophomore year and I owe Brian more
than I can repay him for the friendships he has brought to
me through sharing his own. Brian and I lived together in
Chicago at the turn of the century (ha) and Fran and I always
enjoy visiting him there now. Brian's digital gadgetry prowess
has no rival. P.S. Fran wants the ladies to know Brian is
currently available. |
 |
Thomas
Pletcher: Childhood friend of the Groom. Tom and I have
been friends since the end of 8th grade when we skipped school
to go to Cedar Point amusement park. Since that time, our
friendship has been one traveling adventure after another.
Tom has been a constant source of humor and entertainment
and is the best navigator I know. Tom's true talent lies in
understatement and subtlety, though. Tom works in marketing
in Austin, Texas where he lives with his new bride. Fran and
I were fortunate enough to be able to attend Toms wedding
to our new friend Meg earlier this year. |
 |
Bruce
Krueger: Brother of the groom. Bruce
is my longest standing friend, having put up with me for 28
years. For this he deserves a medal. Throughout my childhood,
I always had someone to play with and Bruce gave me a lot
of attention despite our 5 year age difference. Having different
fathers has never affected the way Bruce and I are able to
relate and I see him as my full-blooded brother. Bruce lives
in Mishawaka, Indiana, and has a degree in psychology from
Indiana University which he has put to use in child/adolescent
care and social services since graduation. I am proud to count
my brother as one of my closest friends. |

Ringbearer |
Thomas
Julius Barth: Nephew of the Groom. Thomas is the ringbearer
and, at age 5, my youngest nephew. He will soon be joined
by a little brother or sister though. Thomas is the son of
my brother Tom and his wife Melissa. The Indianapolis Barths
have been fortunate enough to have Thomas come for a visit
and he looks forward to seeing Mr. and Mrs. B again soon.
Thomas and I have a great appreciation for Hot Wheels, Star
Wars, and video games and Fran enjoys babysitting both of
us when Thomas comes for a visit. |
 |

ATTENDANTS: |
| USHERS: |
|

Head Usher |
Sean
Abercrombie: College friend of the Bride. Sean Abercrombie:
Sean and I have been friends since 1994 when I met him in
the Architecture
program at Ball State. He currently works as an architect
for a firm in Indianapolis. Few can make me laugh as hard
and as heartily as Sean can. On top of all the fun I've shared
with him, he has been a good friend, a sympathetic listener
and generally one of the best guy friends a girl could ever
have. Sean has an admirable zest for life and he and I compete
for who has the most hobbies. Although our visits are too
short and infrequent, we spend plenty of time keeping in touch
via email and telephone. Chris and I are glad Sean is able
to help us on our special day. |
 |
Ryan
Barth: Cousin of the Bride. Fran's cousin Ryan will be
another of the handsome men modeling tuxes for the wedding.
Ryan graduated from North Central last spring, leaving his
post as the school's most prolific columnist, and has joined
his brother in studies at Indiana University. He also followed
his brother to Indy's coolest record shop, Luna
Music, where he is a valued member of their eclectic staff.
During our Indianapolis visits, we have frequently stopped
in to see him at Luna and he has turned us on to some great
music. Ryan is the son of Garry and Debbie Barth. |
 |
Rob
Nienburg: College friend of the Bride and Groom. Rob is
another of our friends made at UD. We both met him independently
and only later learned of our shared appreciation for him.
Rob lived in Sylva, North Carolina, and is a professional
builder. He is skilled with his hands, most recently doing
custom carpentry for a new restaurant, and is also a gifted
photographer. He is quite possibly the best hugger we've ever
known (besides Nana). As we usually get to see Rob only once
a year, we are especially glad he is able to join us for the
big day. |
 |
Josh
Barth: Cousin of the Bride. Josh will be coming in from
sunny Florida to assist us with the festivities. He and
his father, Denny Barth, make up the southern most Barth
family in Sarasota. Josh graduated last spring from the
University
of Central Florida with a degree in finance. He is currently
doing tech support for a local elementary before starting
with an independent consulting firm later this year. Due
to the distance between us, we don't get to see Josh as
much as we'd like to. We are excited to have Josh in the
wedding party and look forward to catching up with him.
|
 |
Adam
Wright: Friend of the Bride and Groom. Adam, a Zionsville
native, followed a year behind Katie to Miami
University of Ohio. It was there that they began dating
and have been best friends ever since. Over the last three
years Chris and Fran have enjoyed his company at many Barth
family gatherings. He has a great sense of humor and an uncommon
abundance of charisma. Adam currently works in marketing in
downtown Indianapolis. We already know he looks great in a
tux. |
| |
|
| GREETERS: |
|
 |
Jennifer
Welcher: Niece of the Groom. Jennifer is known
for her unique world view and quick wit. Although frightening,
she will soon be a licensed driver and her Uncle Chris advises
not getting in her way. She and Fran have bonded while cooking
and scrapbooking and we have enjoyed Jennifer's company for
a few Kalamazoo visits. Jennifer is the daughter of Connie
Dew and lives in Middlebury with her step-dad Sid, her dachshunds
Samantha and Jasmine, and other dogs Indy and Tiki. |
 |
Sarah
Barth: Cousin of the Bride. Sarah is Fran's youngest
cousin and lives with her mother, Paula Barth, and weiner
dog MacKenzie in Niles, Michigan. Sarah is active in sports
(too many to remember) and music. She is an avid Instant Messenger
user and can type faster than anyone we know. Sarah keeps
Fran and Chris aware of youth culture lingo, introducing them
to terms like "coolio". Sarah is yet another dachshund
lover and we are happy to have her in our wedding. |
| |
|

|
 |
Ryan
Downing: College friend of the Bride and Groom.
Chris first knew Ryan as Brian Schultz's roommate back in
Founder's Hall at UD. Fortunately, Brian was willing to share
his friends. Ryan got Chris his much loved job at the Neon
Movies in Dayton and lived with him in the summer of '96.
Since then, we have joined Ryan for many "reunions",
holidays, and Guided
by Voices concerts. Ryan hails from Dayton, Ohio and lives
and works in Iowa City, Iowa. He has a gift for well spoken
words and ideas and we are honored that Ryan will be with
us to share in and celebrate our wedding. |
 |
Emily
Linderman: College friend of the Bride. Emily and I became
friends during the Accelerated
Entry Program for Architecture at Ball State in the summer
of '94. Sharing in the craziness and intensity of the program
made us become good friends quickly. We moved in together
after the following year. I admire Emily for her creative
talents, her unique outlook on life and her sign language
skills. She and I share a love of music, card-making, and
back in the day, Chi-Chi's food. Emily lives in Seattle, Washington
and works as an architect for a small firm in the city. |
| |
|
| MUSIC: |
|
 |
Stephanie
Welcher: Niece of the Groom; vocals. When she was
born, Stephanie made Chris an uncle for the first time and
holds a special place in his heart. She is the daughter of
Chris's sister Connie Dew and lives in Middlebury. Stephanie
is attending Purdue University this fall to study veterinary
medicine. Like Fran, Stephanie (as well as her sister, Jennifer,
and Fran's cousin, Sarah) has an obsession for small,
long, stubby-legged German dogs. We love her voice and
are very excited to have her sing for us. |
 |
Christopher
Julian Barth: Cousin of the Bride; guitar. The "other"
Chris Barth is a musician and is completing his English studies
at Indiana University in Bloomington. He is the elder son
of Fran's Uncle Garry and Aunt Debbie Barth. In addition to
their bizarre name similarities (different by only one syllable),
Chris and Chris share a fondness for independent music. Proudly,
C. Julius Barth has added Chris's band, The
Impossible Shapes, to his recommended playlist. For more
info about Chris's music, check: http://www.lunamusic.net/impossible/
We are glad to have a rockstar at our wedding. |
 |
|
| THE
FAMILY: |
 |
Anne
& Gregg Barth - Parents of the Bride. Gracious and
giving hosts. Anne and Gregg have called Zionsville,
IN, their home for the last 23 years. In December of
2001, they celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary with
a surprise party thrown by their daughters and close friend
of the family Judy Barnes. Although their nest is now empty,
their home has always been a place of full of love. We truly
appreciate your enormous support and care. We love you.
|
 |
Sally
& Robert McConnell - Grandparents of the Bride.
Grandaddy and Grandmommy split their time between homes
in Naples, FL, and Indianapolis, IN. Many Christmas holidays
have been spent staying warm in their company. Grandaddy
is famous for his love of technology and always impresses
Chris with his newest gadgets. Grandmommy's family recipes
set the standard for fine home dining; if only we could
duplicate her macaroni and cheese. We're excited to share
this special day with them.
|
 |
Liz
"Nana" Barth - Grandmother of the Bride. Nana
(the name she is known as by her adoring grandchildren)
lives in Mishawaka, IN, just east of South Bend. Always
a conversationalist, Nana is on top of current events, whether
they are about her family, her community, or the world at
large. Fran inherited her insatiable and highly developed
sweet tooth from her grandmother, shared also with her father.
We can't wait to share our day with her.
|
 |
Julienne
& Julius Barth - Parents of the Groom. Julie and
Julius live in Middlebury,
IN, where they own their own businesses. In April of
this year, they celebrated their 30th anniversary. With
a grand total of 7 children, family gatherings have never
been boring affairs. We look forward to celebrating our
wedding day with the loving group they have taken so much
care in creating. Thank you for your love and support. We
love you.
|
 |
Connie
&
Sidney Dew: Sister and brother-in-law of the Groom,
parents of Stephanie and Jennifer Welcher. Connie and Sid
have made their home on Main Street Middlebury, Indiana (to
catch a glimpse of all the action). Their nest has
one bird less in the fall as Stephanie has gone away for her
first year of college at Purdue. Jennifer has decided to remain,
for now, to look after them. |
 |
Rüdiger
& Nadia Barth: Brother and sister-in-law of the Groom,
parents of Hannah Barth. Rudi and Nadia will fly in from Long
Beach, California, to join us for the celebration. Fran's
first trip with Chris's family was to Rudi and Nadia's wedding
in California and reception in Mexico. It should be noted
that no Barth party is complete without Rudi's presence. |
 |
Thomas
H. & Melissa Barth: Brother and sister-in-law of the
Groom, parents of Thomas J. Barth. Tom and Melissa live in
Middlebury, Indiana. Being parents to the ringbearer is no
easy task, although we love to take him off their hands every
once and a while. Tom and Melissa are expecting their second
child in early December. We can't wait to meet the newest
Barth. |
 |
Garry & Debbie Barth -
Uncle and aunt of the Bride, parents of Chris and Ryan Barth.
More to come.
|
 |
Denny Barth - Uncle of the
Bride, father of Josh Barth.
More to come.
|
 |
Paula Barth - Aunt of the
Bride, mother of Sarah Barth. Paula is the Day Charge Nurse
for the newborns at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Due
to her very busy schedule, we do not get to see her as often
as we would like to. Paula built a beautiful home in Niles,
Michigan about 4 years ago where she and Sarah live with
their weiner dog named MacKenzie. According to Nana, "Little
Kenzie is very spoiled and thinks he's a person."

Attire is semi-formal to formal; ladies may wear anything from

anything from a tuxedo to slacks and a coat and tie. Bridesmaids
will be dressing in ivory formal gowns with black tops and the
groomsmen will be in classic black tie attire.
"Our colors" are black
& white, with a splash of red. As might be obvious by now,
black, white and red are a common theme throughout the wedding
festivities. The bride and groom have made a special effort to
encourage close friends and family members to wear their favorite
semi-formal or formal attire in "our
colors". Chris and Fran would love to see other guests
join in too.
The weather in Indianapolis in late October is generally 60 degrees
and the sun will set at 5:50pm (thanks Grandaddy). We expect it
to be very comfortable and hope for a touch of Indian Summer.
